In 2023, the United States imported $2.3 billion in flowers
In 2023, 87% of imported flowers (by weight) came through South Florida ports. Other most used port districts around the country are Los Angeles and New York.
In 2023, more than 91% of imported stems came through Miami International Airport.
The importing cut flower industry creates over 6,000 local jobs and about 200,000 jobs across the country that depend on the imported fresh cut flowers.
