Following yesterday’s announcement of a new Executive Order impacting tariff rates, there has been some confusion regarding the treatment of countries not listed in Annex 1—particularly Colombia.
The order initially stated that countries not included in Annex 1 would be subject to “an additional 10% tariff,” which many interpreted to mean an increase from 10% to 20%.
However, it now appears that the intended policy was to clarify that these countries will continue with a baseline tariff rate of 10%, not an additional increase.
As a result, the tariff rate for Colombian floral imports will remain at 10%, as established in April. There will be no further increase under this Executive Order.
