Mother’s Day Shipping Update: Smooth Operations and Record Volume

The Mother's Day shipping season went smoothly, thanks in part to the additional CBP inspectors stationed in Miami over the past four weeks. Their presence helped manage the increased volume during this busy period, ensuring a seamless process for flower imports.

We’re pleased to report that 298 containers came into Port Miami, carrying a staggering 42 million stems of flowers. This reflects the strong demand for fresh cut flowers during one of the busiest times of the year.

AFIA has also been actively involved in several press conversations and events, providing insights into the challenges and opportunities within the fresh cut flower industry. One of the recent articles discussing the industry can be found here: Conozca qué hay detrás de cada flor - Diario Las Américas.

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks, as we continue to monitor and support the industry's growth and success.
