Recently, some AFIA members reported receiving notices from Florida State Agriculture Inspectors regarding compliance agreements and inspections for cut flowers being shipped out of Florida.
Understandably, this caused concern within our community, as the notice suggested additional requirements for shipments leaving the state.
AFIA’s Immediate Response
As soon as these notices were reported, AFIA took action. Our Executive Vice President, Christine Boldt, spoke directly with Florida State Agriculture officials to clarify the situation.
The state confirmed that no changes have been made to existing regulations. Importantly, these notices do not apply to imported cut flowers.
AFIA’s Commitment
AFIA remains committed to ensuring that our members have the most accurate, up-to-date information on issues that affect the floral import industry. By reacting quickly and communicating directly with regulatory agencies, we help protect your business from unnecessary disruptions and confusion.
We encourage members to reach out if they receive similar notices or have questions about compliance requirements. AFIA is here to support you and keep our industry informed.
