Weāre excited to share some positive updates from both CBP (Customs and Border Protection) and USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) that could have a meaningful impact on our industry.
CBP News:
Last week, CBP announced that several new inspectors are currently in training at the academy. These new hires are expected to be in place within the next three months, helping to fill roles left by inspectors who have been promoted or relocated. Additionally, CBP plans to announce three new supervisor positions within the next monthāanother step forward in strengthening their operational leadership.
USDA Developments:
USDA also shared encouraging news. After months of a hiring freeze that began in January, they expect to post the vacant identifier positions within the next few weeks. Once the hiring process is complete, this will bring much-needed support to the USDA team.
These developments are a welcome sign of progress and reinforce our continued collaboration with federal agencies to support the floral industry.
