AFIA Takes Action: Addressing the Impact of Tariffs on the Fresh Cut Flower Industry

AFIA has been actively engaging with members of Congress to raise awareness about how tariffs are impacting the imported fresh cut flower industry. These tariffs have created significant challenges for businesses within the sector, and AFIA is committed to driving change.

Currently, there are both Senate and House bills gaining bipartisan support aimed at revising the way these tariffs are applied and their overall impact. AFIA has signed on to support these efforts and is working closely with lawmakers to advocate for a fairer approach.

In addition, a new collective has emerged—“We Pay the Tariffs”—a group of businesses, including those in the fresh cut flower industry, who are directly affected by these tariffs. This group is working together to show Congress that the current tariff structure is harming U.S. businesses.
